Cloud term defines network or internet. Cloud is the concept of accessing it resources from remote over the private network or public network. 

What is Cloud Computing?

Cloud Computing is a model for enabling convenient, on-demand network access to a shared pool of configurable computing resources (e.g., networks, servers, storage, applications, and services) that can be rapidly provisioned and released with minimal management effort or service provider interaction.

Cloud computing is the on-demand delivery of compute resources, storage, applications, and other IT resources through a cloud services platform via the internet with pay-as-you-go pricing.
