HTTP Web Server Architecture

How Web Server works?

  1. Linux server must be configured as Web Server to host the web application and serve to the clients when request is made.
  2. Client use the domain name to browse the web application on the browser and the client system send the Question to the DNS server to know the IP address of the domain name.
  3. Once IP address is  received as an Answer from the DNS server then client system send HTTP request to the Linux server on port 80.
  4. httpd service running on the Linux server listen on port 80 by default and the server take up the request then transfer the files located in the default document root folder '/var/www/html' to the client.
  5. Once the response is  received from the web server then client will show data as web site in the browser.
